Youth Shooting program report

Our youth shooting program which is in its second year was very successful this past summer.  There were a total of 14 youths who came out and participated in either trap and/or .22 rimfire rifle shoots. There was also the opportunity for them to earn NRA Light Rifle Qualification Patches and the following is the results of their fine shooting.

Luke Allen earned  The " Distinguished Expert" patch, which is the highest award given.

Mason Thompson and Danielle Riegel earned their "Sharpshooter" patch.

Ryan Sandroni, Nick Shaffer, Brad Sandroni, Peter Roloson, Aric Stuck, and Victoria Tidball  all earned their "Marksman" patch.

Charlotte Tidball earned her "Pro-Marksman" patch.

For those who don't already know, youth shooting was held every Wednesday evening starting around 5:30 pm from the end of June to the end of August. Everyone is briefed on firearm safety and then the shooting begins and most of the time ends around sunset.

This years shoots usually ended with water jug shooting and it was a lot of fun. It's a nice change from punching holes in paper.

Just so you know, the NRA Qualification programs are no different for youth than adults and we did have two ladies shoot this year. So it's not limited to youths. It has been my pleasure to run this program and I am looking forward to doing it again next summer. I would also like to thank all the adults who showed up and helped out. Tom Grasek
