What are the Rules for Hunting on the Club Hunting Lands?

1.  Safety comes first. Please be careful and conscious of your surroundings and hunt safe. If hunting behind (west of ) the shooting range, it is YOUR responsibility to make sure the "Range Closed - Hunter in Woods" sign is posted at the shooting range shed.

2.  A valid NYS Hunting License is required, and ALL NYS Game Laws must be followed.

3.  Stands or blinds erected by Certificate members may be used by other members WITH PERMISSION.  Certificate member stands and blinds are clearly marked on the hunting lands map, available in the club house. Simply call or email a Certificate member if you wish to use their stand or blind to get permission.

4. Stands or blinds erected by Associate members shall be first come, first served.  We expect a safe, cooperative and fun hunting environment at the clubhouse and on Kuneytown Hunting lands.

5. Big game hunting is reserved for Associate and Certificate members and their immediate family only (spouses and children under 18). No guests for big game hunting allowed, unless it is a club sanctioned event such as WWIA FLX Ducks & Bucks.

6. Organized deer drives are not allowed during the early archery season, or the first two weeks of the Firearm Deer season. Drives must be organized to include all members hunting the Kuneytown Hunting Lands that day. We expect a safe, cooperative and fun hunting environment at the clubhouse and on Kuneytown Hunting lands.

7.  Members hunting small game NOT during a big game open season are allowed to bring up to 2 guests.

8. Kuneytown Hunting Lands include many acres not owned by the club.  We are fortunate to be guests on these lands. Be courteous and respectful if you run in to other hunters, whether they are Kuneytown members or not. DO NOT confront or attempt to "throw people off" Kuneytown Hunting Lands. You are unlikely to run in to non-Kuneytown members, but if you do, it is likely that they are also guests of the owners of the land. Help us preserve our privileges and do not initiate confrontations.

9. Use of ATVs or UTVs are not permitted for recreational use, and can only be used to transport yourself and your equipment to and from your stand, to maintain your stand or blind, and to retrieve game. ATVs and UTVs may be occasionally used outside of hunting season for maintenance or other work on Kuneytown Hunting Lands. If using ATVs or UTVs, please be very respectful of property and crops.

10. Any member violating club rules or NYS Game Laws will be subject to disciplinary action including possible loss of hunting privileges or removal from membership.
