The Fourth TOP GUN shoot was held October 18th it started out cool and overcast ended up sunny and warm. There was a cross wind left to right. The shoot was well attended. Nine people of which one was a women and one a youth. Shot in six different categories.

The Third TOP GUN shoot was held August 9th it was a hot sunny day.  Temperature ranged from 77- 91 degrees. The roof over the shooting bench provided much needed shade. ONLY Four people shot in nine categories. No youth shooters. Present leaders are:

The Second TOP GUN shoot was held June 7th it was a sunny day except for the smoke haze from the Canadian wildfires. A bit windy blowing from right to left across the range. Temperature ranged from 72- 77 degrees. The newly installed rifle /pistol racks worked well. ONLY Three people shot in five categories. No youth shooters. Present leaders are:

The Second TOP GUN SHOOT of the year is scheduled for Saturday June 7th 2025 starting at 11 AM. until all persons have shot. There is no cost to enter this event.

This event will include all 13 TOP GUN categories, with separate categories for women shooters.                         

• .22 Rim fire rifle. 15 shots, 5 at 50 feet offhand, 5 at 50 yards offhand 5 at 100 yards bench rest.
• .22 Rim fire pistol. 10 shots, 5 at 50 feet offhand, 5 at 50 yards bench rest allowed.
• Rapid fire .22 Rim fire pistol. 5 shots at 25 yards offhand in 5 seconds.
• Rapid fire Center fire pistol. 5 shots at 25 yards offhand in 5 seconds.
• Center fire pistol 5 shots, 3 at 50 feet offhand and 2 at 50 yards bench rest allowed.
• Center ire rifle 5 shots, 3 at 50 yards and 2 at 100 yards bench rest allowed.
• Long range rifle. 3 shots at 250 yards bench rest in less than 2 minutes.
• Muzzle loader rifle 3 shots, one at 100 yards bench rest allowed and two at 50 yards offhand.
• Shotgun slug. 3 shots, one at 100 yards bench rest allowed and two at 50 yards offhand.
• .17HMR Rimfire Rifle 15 shots, 5 at 50 feet offhand, 5 at 50 yards offhand, 5 at 100 yards benchrest allowed
• Cross Bow 3 bolts at 30 yards offhand.
• Youth .22 Rim fire rifle. 12 shots, 6 at 50 feet offhand and 6 at 50 yards bench rest allowed.
• Youth air rifle. 12 shots, 6 at 33 feet offhand and 6 at 33 feet bench rest allowed.

This event is limited to club members only, except for the youth categories which any youth can enter provided they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian on the day of the shoot.

Do you know a youth who wants to shoot? There are two youth categories. Plus $25.00 Bass Pro gift cards will be awarded to the highest score youth shooters in each category at each event. .22 rimfire rifle shoot will be 12-14 years old and 15-17 years old. Air rifle will be 10-13 and 14-17 years old.

For the youth shoot the club will provide eye and hearing protection. The event will include an instructional firearms safety briefing given by Certified instructors. We encourage first time shooters to attend. There will be a youth sized .22 rim fire rifle available or bring their own rifle and ammo.

For the youth air rifle, the participant will need to supply their own air rifle and .177 pellets or BB’s. 

Registration is necessary for youth shooters. They can be registered for the shoot by contacting any of the TOP GUN committee members.  You must provide your own firearm, ammo, and a gun case. All firearms will be unloaded, inside a case or on the gun racks mounted to the shooting shed. Until it is time for it to be used at the firing line. The club will provide the Official TOP GUN targets. If time permits you may shoot more than once in a category.

Based on the number of participants there maybe time limits set for the categories that do not already have them.

The First TOP GUN shoot was held April 5 it was raining, windy and cold so the shoot was extended into the 6^th which was also windy and cold but no rain. There was a heater set up in the shooting shed on the 6^th.  Five people shot in eight categories. One of them was a youth. Present leaders are:

 The next TOP GUN shoot is scheduled for Saturday June 7^th. It was decided that starting April 7^th, 2025 the muzzleloader and shotgun slug 100-yard shot can now be taken from a supported position (bench rest, sitting, kneeling, shooting sticks etc.). Could still use more shooters.

TOP GUN SHOOT extended a day

 Due to the rain and wind today, the First Top gun shoot will be extended into tomorrow. The range will have someone there today 11 am till 2 PM for anyone who wants to shoot today. Then again tomorrow from 11 AM until everyone who shows up has shot. Youth shoot prize would be awarded after the shoot April 6th as well as the raffle for the Kuneytown Voucher.
