Kuneytown's 2nd derby this year was a great success. We had 16 registered hunters.Unfortunately the snow storm Friday slowed down the hunting. The animals and the hunters were reluctant to move Saturday morning but a few of us got out and were successful. Moira Tidball from the Seneca Wild Harvest Table of Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension was there to demonstrate how to prepare and cook rabbits. She also was a registered hunter in the derby. Thank you Moira, the rabbit was excellent. The winners were:
Heaviest bag, Squirrels: Tom Grasek 7.11 pounds
Heaviest bag, Rabbits: Danielle Riegel 2.15 pounds
Lunker squirrel: Danielle Riegel 2.00 pounds
Lunker Rabbit: Danielle Riegel 2.15 pounds
