4th Annual Kuneytown Finger Lakes Ducks and Bucks: Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation (WWIA) Kuneytown, NY: November 8-12 2017
Kuneytown Sportsmen's Club and its partners will once again host combat-wounded veterans to enjoy an unparalleled hunting experience in the Finger Lakes region of New York. We will work with the Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation Inc. (WWIA), who serve our Nation's combat wounded Purple Heart recipients by providing world-class outdoor sporting activities as a means to recognize and honor their sacrifice, encourage independence and connections with communities, and promote healing and wellness through camaraderie and a shared passion for the outdoors.
Haven't heard of WWIA or want to learn more? See this video.
For the fourth year in a row, we will host 5 warriors in excellent waterfront accommodations, provide them with first-class meals, and most importantly, introduce them to waterfowl hunting in and around the Montezuma Wildlife Refuge and the Cayuga Lake watershed, a world class waterfowling destination. Our guests will also enjoy cross-bow hunting for the legendary farm bucks of upstate NY and the former Seneca Army Depot. The 5 day event overlaps with Veterans Day and culminates with a celebration dinner for the heroes, held at Kuneytown Sportsmen's Club. Don't miss this event! Raffle tickets and banquet admissions tickets are on sale now. If you would like to purchase dinner tickets please post or message and we will be sure to get tickets to you! If you would like to donate items for the raffle/auction or sponsor elements of the event please email kgtidball@yahoo.com or smock13148@gmail.com
Thank you all for your support!

Results from the final squirrel/rabbit hunt of the season
The final squirrel and rabbit hunt of the season took place February 25, 2017. The day started off nice but by noon there were heavy down pours of rain which stopped most squirrel movement.
For this hunt teams were able to either enter for point score or total weight. Eight teams(16 people) entered the point score and only one team (2 people) entered for weight. There were two youth entered. A total of 27 squirrels were taken.
The weight division only entry was the team of Jeremy and Jack Rosignal with three squirrels that weighted 4 pounds with the lunker being 1.37 pounds.
The point scoring division had five teams enter 24 squirrels to be scored. With 13 head shots and 10 body shot and 1 more than one hole (shogun pellets). The following are the results:
First Place went to the team of Phil Jensen and Barry Turner with nine squirrels (8 head shot and one more than one hole, shotgun) for a total of 16 1/2 points.
Second Place went to the team of John Hurlbert and Chad Schedske with nine squirrels (4 head shot 5 body shot) for a total of 13 points.
Third Place went to the team of Nate Hendrix and Matt Utter with three squirrels (one head shot 2 body shot ) for a total of 4 points.
No rabbits were taken.
The club will be sending all the collected squirrel tails to Mepps lures. The club provided squirrel stew for those who showed up at the club. Thanks to all who participated in this years hunts and see you next season.
NOTE: The club will be using the point scoring method for most if not all future squirrel hunts. It provides the most usable squirrel meat (no shotgun pellets to pick out) and involves good marksmanship.

TOP GUN LONG RANGE BENCH REST SHOOT
Attention members. Are you a long range shooter? Well there will be a Long range bench rest shoot on MONDAY JUNE 20, 2016.
Be at the Kuneytown range starting at 6:00 pm and ending when there is not enough light to shoot.
You will need to bring your own rifle and ammo. However remember that
High power caliber rifles (those that have a muzzle FT/pounds of more than 3,700 as well as any caliber full copper jacketed/armor piercing bullets ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE FIRED/USED ON THE RANGE.
The club will supply the targets and will have sand bags but if you want to bring your own front rest or bipod you can.
The shoot will consist of three shots at 250 yards in a timed two minutes. The rear of the rifle must be supported by your shoulder. You may also bring a spotting scope so you can see where your shots are hitting or you can have a spotter do that for you. The three shots must be done within the two minutes. Reshoots will be allowed if time permits,
There is no cost to shoot.
You must be a club member or a youth shooter. Anyone under the age of eighteen is considered a youth shooter.
THE RANGE HAD BEEN UPGRADED WITH METAL BULLET BACK STOP\TRAPS
We now have brand new metal bullet backstops/traps. They were expensive to procure and install. We do not want any holes in them and want them to last a long time. Therefore all high power caliber rifles or pistols (those that have a muzzle FT/pounds of more than 3,700 as well as any caliber full copper jacketed/armor piercing bullets ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE FIRED/USED ON THE RANGE.
Should you have the need to sight in a rifle or pistol with more foot/pounds than allowed contact the club President and we may be able to make arrangements for you to use the range but not the metal bullet back stops.
There will also be a sign in book inside the range building. Anyone useing the range must sign in.
Failure to adhere to any of the range rules can result in termination of your club membership and/or a monetary assessment for repair of the damaged metal bullet back stops.

Work day to rebuild tragets
Thanks to all who showed up and worked hard to repair the gun range. Many folks showed up throughout the day to replace the targets with safer and more environmentally friendly targets, A big thank you to Whitetails Unlimited for the grant to make this work happen!
