SQUIRREL/RABBIT DERBY 2/26/2011
To end the small game season, we are having a combination squirrel/rabbit derby. Hunters will weigh in the total rabbits and squirrel bag separately. We will pay out first place and lunker in both categories. Please contact Eric at 315-730-2257 or stop at the club on a Friday night to enter and enjoy the company of your fellow members. Don't forget to enter the kids. This is a great event to involve young hunters.
Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension will again be conducting processing and cooking demonstrations.

Squirrel Derby Results
Despite frigid arctic temps, the Kuneytown Squirrel Derby was a success. Two out of three of the winners were YOUTH members! And we all enjoyed squirrel hors doeuvres while celebrating with the winners.
Thanks to Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension, who provided a processing and cooking demonstration.

Bounties of Autumn- a Time to be Thankful
Preparations have begun for the Thanksgiving feast to be enjoyed in only a few more weeks. Between now and then, much will be harvested. But, we at the Tidball ranch have much to be thankful for already.
We especially want to thank our friends at Kuneytown who have generously helped us through Moira's injury. Your generous gifts have been such an inspiration and blessing to us. Many thanks.
In the spirit of gratitude, I enjoyed a fall weekend excursion hunting squirrels with my daughters. The mast production this year is producing some fat squirrels!
We also got lucky and scored a delicious wild mushroom (shelf fungus actually) called a Chicken of the Woods.
