Rules for the Gray squirrel hunt scheduled for Sunday February 27, 2022
The final hunt of the season is scheduled for Sunday February 27, 2022. It will be a by weight, single person event with a lunker and smallest squirrel category.
Kuneytown is a member of the Seneca County Federation of Sportsmens Club, Inc. This is what they do.
SENECA COUNTY FEDERATION OF SPORTSMENS CLUB, INC.
Who are we?
We are a not-for-profit organization. Our goals are to
aid in the formulation and establishment of sound policies, regulations and
practices. Designed to conserve, protect, restore and perpetuate fish, wildlife
and their various habitat, as well as scenic and recreational areas used by
sportsmen/ women. To help ensure that these policies, regulations and practices
are based on proven science and good management principles. Not the general
public opinion. With special regard to Seneca County and the State of New York.
To aid the
efforts of individuals, organizations and government agencies in the
preservation of our heritage of hunting, fishing, trapping, shooting and
archery sports.
To educate the
people of Seneca County and the State of New York of the rights of all
sportsmen /women.
To represent the
sportsmen/ women of Seneca County with reference to their rights to hunt, fish,
trap and participate in archery and shooting sports, as well as their 2nd
amendment rights to keep and bear arms.
The Federation consists of fifteen organizations and
a number of individual members, representing approximately 3,000 persons, that
all share these goals and are located and/or live in Seneca County.

What do we do?
Represent Seneca County sportsmen/women
on the New York State Conservation Council.
Represent Seneca County sportsmen/women
on the Finger Lakes Conservation Council.
Represent Seneca County sportsmen/women
on the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Region 8 Fish
and Wildlife Management Board.
Maintain a present with State, County
and local government legislators to ensure the interests of sportsmen/ women
are known and acted upon when and where needed.
Maintain an active relationship with the
Environmental Conservation Officers who are assigned to patrol Seneca County.
Actively promote the interest of
sportsmen/women thru local news media, publications, internet and public
outreach.
How do we do this?
The Federation has active delegates and/or
alternate delegates that attend and participate in the two NYS Conservation
Council meetings a year, the four Finger Lakes Conservation Council meetings a
year, and the six NYSDEC Region 8 Fish and Wildlife Board meetings a year.
Our President and/or other persons
within our organization visit our State and local legislators in person and/or
thru correspondence when needed. We also invite our local legislators to attend
and speak at our meetings and annual Banquet.
The Environmental Conservation Officers
assigned to Seneca County are invited to and they do attend most of our meetings.
We exchange information in regard to game violation and other items of
interest in Seneca County.
We will send letters to the editor of
various news media and provide comments for various items/projects that
interest us. We have guest speakers at our meeting and at our annual banquet.
We update and maintain the Seneca
Federation of Sportsmen’s Club Web site at www.senecacountyfederation.com
What else do we do?
We provide financial assistance for
sending children who live in Seneca County to the NYS Conservation Camps every
year.
We support and provide financial
assistance for various youth and adult shooting, archery, fishing, trapping and
hunting programs and events every year. Mostly in Seneca County but not limited
to just Seneca County.
We support our second amendment rights
as well as all our constitutional rights.
We administer and sponsor the C. Scott
Sampson Memorial Conservation Scholarship, which is annually awarded to a
Seneca County High School Senior who plans on attending college and studying in
the field of environmental conservation.

Renting the Kuneytown Sportsmen's Club Meeting Hall
Many Kuneytown members, and friends and family of members, occasionally have a need or desire to rent our spacious meeting hall. Here are the procedures and rules.
There is a master calendar at the Club kept by the Club Leadership. Check to see if your proposed date is available. You can generally ask any bartender, the Bar Steward, any Officer, or any Certificate Member to see the Club calendar.
Secure the date (if available) and schedule a planning meeting with the Club President or Bar Steward. Be sure to include in your planning discussion decorations, musicians or other live performers, tents, and any additional preparation items or time you may need.
Pay your club rental fee (Basic club rental fee is $ ________ . There may be additional fees for catering and specific bar requests beyond our normal stocking).
Leave the Club meeting hall exactly as you found it, and as clean or cleaner than you found it.
