Fish dinners to continue, but NO BULLHEADS Friday 13 April, 2018

Due to unseasonably cold temperatures and wintery conditions in Canada, fishing for bullheads has temporally halted. NO BULLHEADS FRIDAY APRIL 13TH.

We will serve a haddock fish dinner on Friday the 13th.

 Hopefully, with temperatures  rising next week, we will have bullheads again soon.

Results from the February 24, 2018 Squirrel/Rabbit hunt

The last squirrel and rabbit hunt of the season took place February 24, 2018. It was an overcast day with temperatures 40-45 degrees.

There were 20 persons signed up with one of them being youth. Twelve people brought in 62 squirrels with seven of them bring in their limit of six, to be scored. There were 32  head shots, 22 body shot and 8 with more than one bullet hole. The following are the results:

There was a tie for First Place between Phil Jensen and Matt Gokey each with their limit of six squirrels all of them head shot for a score of 12 points each.

Third place went to Shawn Amen with his limit of six squirrels (5 head shot and 1 body shot) for a total of 11 points.

Lunker squirrel went to Emma Galligan it weighted 1.81 pounds.


Six people signed up for rabbit. There were 16 rabbits taken by four people.

Zack Herman entered his limit of six rabbits which weighted 18.49 pounds to take the heaviest bag.

Lunker rabbit went to Brad Aman it weighted 3.73 pounds.
The club collected over one hundred squirrel tails and will be sending them to Mepps lures. The club provided squirrel stew for those who showed up at the club. Thanks to everyone who participated in the hunts and see you next year.

The Final squirrel/rabbit hunt of the season is scheduled for Saturday February 24,2018

The rabbit hunt same rules as the January 20, 2018 hunt.


The gray squirrel hunt will be an individual event using the point scoring system and will include a lunker squirrel category. 


Each person will register/pay a $10.00 entry fee prior to the actual hunt day. Persons desiring to enter the lunker squirrel category will pay an additional $5.00 fee. The club will cover the entry fees  for any youth who is under the age of eighteen.

REGISTRATION: Can be done any time prior to each hunt but no later than the night before the hunt. Registration can be done in person on Friday nights at the club or by calling

Prizes will be determined based on the amount of persons entered.
Under 5 persons event will be cancelled.
5-9 only first place wins a prize.
10-15 First and second wins a prize.
16 on up First, second and third place will win prizes
Lunker squirrel only the heaviest squirrel will win a prize

  

Each person will be allowed to enter a maximum of six (6) gray squirrels for a maximum point score of 12 points.


Point system scoring.
2 points for a head shot with the neck counting as a head shot.
1 point for any other hit on the body.
½ point for more than one bullet hole.
NOTE:  Each shotgun pellet hole counts as a bullet hole.  So if more than one pellet hits the squirrel it counts as more than one bullet hole.  ½ point.
Ties will be broken by the amount of  head shots. Person with the most head shots wins the tie breaker.
Any rim fire caliber can be used.
Pellet/air guns are allowed.
Shotguns can be used but see NOTE above.
No center fire calibers.
No red squirrels.  No frozen squirrels.  No road kills. Only squirrels taken on the day of the hunt can be entered.
Lunker squirrel is by weight so they can not be wet.

Anyone with a NYS small game hunting license can participate; all NYS small game hunting regulations must be observed.


Each person will be required to show their small game hunting license prior to their squirrels being scored.


Hunting ends at 3:00 P.M. you must be at the club by then. Club will be open from 1 PM and food will be provided and liquid refreshments are available from the bar. Winners will be determined, and prizes awarded.

Results from the January 20, 2018 Squirrel/rabbit hunt

The first squirrel and rabbit hunt of the season took place January 20, 2018. It was a sunny day with temperatures 35-45 degrees and at least a foot of snow on the ground everywhere.

There were 7 teams signed up, 14 people with 3 of them being youths. Six teams brought in 50 squirrels to be scored. With 18  head shots, 20 body shot and 12 with more than one bullet hole. The following are the results:

First Place went to the team of Johnny Hurlburt and Cody Jensen with their limit of twelve squirrels (6 head shot, 4 body shot and 2 with more than one bullet hole)  for a total of 17  points. This is a new record amount of points.

Second Place went to the team of Scott Ridley and Lewis Martin with their limit of twelve squirrels (4 head shot and 8 body shot) for a total of 16 points.

Third Place went to the team of Ken and Christopher Lisk with seven squirrels (2 head shot and 5 body shot ) for a total of 9 points

Four people signed up for rabbit. There were three rabbits taken all by Shawn Amen they weighted 7.73 pounds with the lunker being 3.01 pounds.

The club is once again collecting squirrel tails to be sent to Mepps lures at the end of the season.  The club provided squirrel stew and chili for those who showed up at the club.  

NOTE:  The next squirrel/rabbit hunt is scheduled for Saturday February 10, 2018. Same rules as this hunt. But there will be a lunker squirrel category added. More details on this when you sign up.

Squirrel and Rabbit Hunt dates


This seasons dates for the Squirrel and Rabbit hunts have been determined all three dates are Saturdays January 20th, February 10th and February 24th 2018.  We will be using the point scoring method for all three of the squirrels hunts. 
Gray Squirrel Hunt Rules and general information using a point scoring system.
          Teams will register/pay a $20.00 per two person team entry fee prior to the actual hunt day. The club will cover the entry fee of $10.00 for any youth team member who is under the age of eighteen.
REGISTRATION: Can be done any time prior to each hunt but no later than the night before the hunt. Registration can be done in person on Friday nights at the club or by calling

Teams with the 1st , 2nd and 3rd highest TOTAL POINT SCORES will win prizes.
Total point score is based on two people per team.
Each team member needs to be present in order for their squirrels to be scored. 
Each team member will be allowed to enter a maximum of six (6) gray squirrels for a maximum point score of 12 points.
The point score of each team member will be added together for the  TOTAL POINT SCORE for that team. Maximum 24 points.
If only one team member shows up at the scoring table then his or her point score will be the TOTAL POINT SCORE for that team. Maximum points 12.

The highest TOTAL WEIGHT  and lunker rabbit will win prizes. 
Total weight is based on the weight of no more than six rabbits.
No frozen rabbits.  No wet rabbits. No road kills.  Only rabbits taken on the day of the hunt can be entered.
Anyone with a NYS small game hunting license can participate; all NYS small game hunting regulations must be observed.

Each person will be required to show their small game hunting license prior to their rabbits being  weighted.

Hunting ends at 3:00 P.M. you must be at the club by then. Club will be open from 12 noon and food will be provided and liquid refreshments are available from the bar. Winners will be determined, and prizes awarded.
