TOP GUN LONG RANGE BENCH REST SHOOT
Attention members. Are you a long range shooter? Well there will be a Long range bench rest shoot on MONDAY JUNE 20, 2016.
Be at the Kuneytown range starting at 6:00 pm and ending when there is not enough light to shoot.
You will need to bring your own rifle and ammo. However remember that
High power caliber rifles (those that have a muzzle FT/pounds of more than 3,700 as well as any caliber full copper jacketed/armor piercing bullets ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE FIRED/USED ON THE RANGE.
The club will supply the targets and will have sand bags but if you want to bring your own front rest or bipod you can.
The shoot will consist of three shots at 250 yards in a timed two minutes. The rear of the rifle must be supported by your shoulder. You may also bring a spotting scope so you can see where your shots are hitting or you can have a spotter do that for you. The three shots must be done within the two minutes. Reshoots will be allowed if time permits,
There is no cost to shoot.
You must be a club member or a youth shooter. Anyone under the age of eighteen is considered a youth shooter.
THE RANGE HAD BEEN UPGRADED WITH METAL BULLET BACK STOP\TRAPS
We now have brand new metal bullet backstops/traps. They were expensive to procure and install. We do not want any holes in them and want them to last a long time. Therefore all high power caliber rifles or pistols (those that have a muzzle FT/pounds of more than 3,700 as well as any caliber full copper jacketed/armor piercing bullets ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE FIRED/USED ON THE RANGE.
Should you have the need to sight in a rifle or pistol with more foot/pounds than allowed contact the club President and we may be able to make arrangements for you to use the range but not the metal bullet back stops.
There will also be a sign in book inside the range building. Anyone useing the range must sign in.
Failure to adhere to any of the range rules can result in termination of your club membership and/or a monetary assessment for repair of the damaged metal bullet back stops.
Work day to rebuild tragets
Thanks to all who showed up and worked hard to repair the gun range. Many folks showed up throughout the day to replace the targets with safer and more environmentally friendly targets, A big thank you to Whitetails Unlimited for the grant to make this work happen!
